Santa Rosa
County Health Department has been part of the state and national
public health system since 1944. Past public health efforts have wiped out or
brought under control such deadly diseases as polio, malaria, yellow fever, and
smallpox. Santa Rosa County Health Department offers the following Clinic Services:
Family Planning, Primary Care, Pregnancy Testing, and Sexually Transmitted Diseases.
Health Services offered at this health department includes the AIDS Drug Assistance
Program, Epilepsy, and Insulin.
The Dental Program provides diagnostic, restorative, preventive, and educational
services to the children of Santa Rosa County ranging in the ages of 4-20. Services
that the Santa Rosa County Health Department Dental Clinic provides are as follows:
Exams, X-rays, Cleanings, Fluoride treatments, Sealants, Restorative (fillings),
and Extractions. The dental staff is form of 1 full-time dentist, 1 part-time
dental hygienist, 2 full-time dental assistants and a clerk.
